Great American Insurance, Telcom Insurance Grow Cell Phone Replacement Insurance Program

Great American Insurance Group and Telcom Insurance Group are growing Stay Connected replacement cell phone coverage for National Telecommunications Cooperative Association (NTCA) members. During the last three years, Great American says its strategic marketing relationship with Telcom has expanded distribution of the enhanced Stay Connected program to 25 NTCA members and earned endorsements from two major rural telco associations.

Stay Connected has no enrollment fees and no minimum number of subscriber program requirements. Providers of the Stay Connected program sell the service, on average, to 25% of their cellular customers, bringing in a steady recurring-fee income, says Great American. The Stay Connected program gives rural telecommunications providers an alternative to self-insured plans and “club programs.”

Enrolled customers receive a repaired or comparable replacement cell phone for their lost, stolen or damaged cell phones. Coverage features include unlimited number of claims; highest dollar limit for claims of any cell phone insurance plan; coverage effective immediately upon binding; additional annual limit of $1,500 for unauthorized calls from a stolen insured phone; coverage available for broad array of devices; flat $50 deductible per claim regardless of the type of phone; and covered cost of shipping to and from repair center.

“The Stay Connected program helps providers manage their risks, while generating recurring fee income and extending a high degree of customer service to subscribers in the event of a claim,” says Peter Elliott, president of Telcom Insurance Group.
