Guy Carpenter & Co., a risk and reinsurance company and member of Marsh & McLennan, has acquired Smith Group, a disability reinsurance risk manager and consultant.
Guy says operations for the company will continue to be based in South Portland, Maine. Smith Group employees have experience in the areas of actuarial science, market research and risk management.
Guy adds that the addition of Smith’s offering of reinsurance products and services, which encompass long-term disability insurance business, enhancing the company’s ability to deliver differentiated solutions to meet clients’ needs.
