IICF Names Hartwig to National Board of Governors

The Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation has named Dr. Robert P. Hartwig, CPCU, economist and president of the Insurance Information Institute (I.I.I.), to its National Board of Governors. The IICF was created to uniting the collective strengths of the insurance industry to provide grants, volunteer service and leadership.

The IICF’s National Board of Governors manages the organization’s national endowment fund. The board also establishes overarching strategy and plans nationally and regionally. Comprised of 20 senior leaders from across the insurance industry, the board is chaired by Gary Petrosino, executive VP of Chubb & Son.

Hartwig joined the I.I.I. in 1998. Prior to his current role as president, he was the organization’s chief economist. Before joining the I.I.I., Hartwig worked as director of economic research at the National Council on Compensation Insurance and as a senior economist at Swiss Reinsurance Group. He is a member of the American Economic Association, the American Risk and Insurance Association, the National Association of Business Economics and the CPCU Society.

“The I.I.I. has been a longtime supporter of the IICF, and we are thrilled to have Dr. Hartwig’s representation on the National Board of Governors,” said Bill Ross, CEO of the IICF. “His deep ties within the industry and wide-reaching knowledge of the insurance landscape will bring invaluable guidance to the IICF, as well as our community and industry initiatives.”
