Ironshore Launches Umbrella Product for Ag Industry

Ironshore Inc. has introduced AgriProtection, an agriculture-industry lead umbrella policy launched to meet demand from a broad spectrum of large, middle market commercial agribusiness entities.

Ironshore Specialty Casualty says it will provide coverage enhancements including coverage for herbicide, pesticide and fertilizer application; misdelivery of liquid products; and failure to supply. Ironshore’s pollution exclusion contains an exception for anhydrous ammonia, liquid petroleum gas and propane, and its fungus exclusion does not apply to products intended for bodily consumption. Transmissible Spongiform Encephalopathy (Mad Cow Disease) and genetically modified organism coverage are considered on an individual account basis, says Ironshore.

Commercial entities within the agricultural sector that can benefit from Ironshore’s broader coverage include agricultural co-ops, growers, packers, shippers, animal feed and pet food manufacturers, dairy and egg producers, and meat and poultry processing facilities, says the company.

The AgriProtection Lead Umbrella form provides ISO-based occurrence coverage with limits up to $25 million, says Ironshore, adding that worldwide coverage is available for large, commercial agriculture risks with annual revenues between $50 million and $500 million. Excess liability coverage with limits up to $25 million also is available when attaching over another company’s lead umbrella.
