Liberty Mutual Insurance has appointed Glenn Shapiro to the position of EVP, commercial insurance, and chief claims officer. Shapiro succeeds George Neale, who recently retired from the company.
Liberty Mutual says Shapiro will be based in the company’s Boston home office and will lead a commercial lines claims organization. The goals of the organization are to deliver claims outcomes that meet or exceed customers’ needs, and further enhance the relationships between claims personnel and agent and broker partners.
Shapiro has more than 23 years of industry experience, says Liberty Mutual, including positions in personal, commercial and disability claims organizations. Prior to this, Shapiro was SVP and manager of field operations for commercial insurance claims with Liberty Mutual. He also has served as SVP of claims for Safeco Insurance, a Liberty Mutual Insurance company.
