MassMutual has named Nabil Hachem new head of data engineering, the company announced.

Hachem comes to MassMutual by way of the Novartis Institute for BioMedical Research where he last served as global head of data engineering. He brings nearly four decades of data management experience to his new role where he will oversee a team of 25 and help implement the insurer’s analytics strategy.

Additional responsibilities include managing the collaboration efforts of software developers and data scientists and supporting the carrier’s digital marketing, mobile and digital development teams in enhancing the customer experience for its five million policyholders. Hachem will report to Sears Merritt, MassMutual vice president and chief data scientist.
