New York Life hires Soni

Deepa Soni, previously chief information officer at The Hartford, has joined New York Life as its executive vice president and CIO.

Soni will report directly to Craig DeSanto, chair, president and CEO of the company. She will serve on its Executive Management Committee, and oversee enterprise technology, cyber, data, AI and the New York Life Ventures venture capital business.

"Deepa is a distinguished technology leader with deep experience driving digital transformation and innovation in the financial services industry," said DeSanto, in a press release. "We are thrilled for her to join the New York Life executive team as we continue to advance our technology, data and AI capabilities in support of our agents and advisors, clients and employees."

Soni delivered the keynote address at Digital Insurance's DIGIN conference in 2023.
