New York Life Launches LGBT Microsite

New York Life Insurance Co. has launched a Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender (LGBT) microsite, Customized Solutions for the LGBT Community. The site is divided into four sections: Creating a Safety Net, Retirement Planning, Estate Planning and Our Community Commitment. New York Life says the first three sections detail specific financial concerns and the tools to address them, from how to create a comfortable future and planning for happy retirement years, to creating a legacy for loved ones. The last section spotlights the company’s support of LGBT organizations, including New York Life’s second-consecutive year of earning the top rating of 100% in the Corporate Equality Index survey, administered by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation.

The new site expands on the New York Life’s community outreach, including grants made to the Lesbian and Gay Community Services Center in New York City, and the Hetrick-Martin Institute to support LGBT youth in the New York and New Jersey areas.

In addition to achieving top Human Rights Campaign scores, New York Life also was named one of the best adoption-friendly workplaces, for its generous benefits by the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption. The company also supports the Trevor Project, an organization dedicated to serving LGBT youth and suicide prevention; Out and Equal, dedicated to achieving workplace equality for LGBT employees and professionals; and the Services & Advocacy for Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual & Transgender Elders (SAGE). New York Life is a member of the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce.
