New York Life Names Chief Technology Officer

New York Life has hired Cara-Anne Gagliano and Thomas Hendry as SVPs of the company, and Don Desiderato as senior managing director and chief technology officer.

New York Life says Desiderato is senior managing director and chief technology officer in the investments group, reporting to John Kim, president of the investments group. Desiderato is responsible for the retirement administration, distribution and marketing, investment operations and warehouse platforms, along with infrastructure services and business/IT risk management. In addition, he is a member of the Investments Group Senior Leadership Team.

Gagliano is  SVP in the insurance group. She is in charge of information technology strategy and all application development for life products, reporting to Susan Paternoster, SVP and CIO for the Insurance Group. Prior to joining the company, Gagliano worked at Nomura Securities International, says New York Life.
 
Hendry is SVP and treasurer, reporting to SVP, Deputy CFO and Controller John Fleurant, adds New York Life. He is responsible for the treasury function, as well as financial planning, analysis, and management reporting. Prior to joining New York Life, Hendry worked at Prudential.
