New York Life Web Site Offers Insurance Business Job Tips for Women

New York - New York Life Insurance Co. has launched a Web site called www.nylcareersforwomen.com to provide information about careers in life insurance for women at all stages of professional development.The site offers details on opportunities in sales and field management. A questionnaire on the site helps readers assess their interest in a sales career. In addition, the site provides information about working for New

York Life, including a streaming video of New York Life agents and managers talking about work experiences and why the company was the right choice for them.

A special section on women and finance focuses on personal financial matters, including guidance for small business owners and tips on saving for college or retirement. Other sections offer an interactive timeline of famous women at New York Life and a history of recognition the company has received for creating opportunities for women.

"As an employer of choice for women, this New York Life Web site highlights the specific benefits of a career in the life insurance sector and why it may be the best career choice for women," says Mary Dean, vice president of the Women's Market division at New York Life. "Through the words of our agents and managers, women can learn that the career offers flexibility and the ability to make a difference in people's lives. A career in insurance offers flexible work hours, unlimited earning potential and the personal satisfaction that comes with providing products that offer financial security to others in your community."

In March, New York Life was recognized for its advocacy for women in the workplace, earning a spot on the National Association for Female Executives "Top 30 Companies for Female Executives" list. New York Life was recognized for championing women's advancement and for development and advancement of women in the workplace, including support programs, succession planning and work and life balance programs.

New York Life's Women's Market division's mission is to recruit and retain women managers and agents, increase sales to women and to discuss best practices when targeting the women's market. Most recently, the Women's Markets division was host to a Women's Market Conference, a two–day workshop for our field force.

New York Life's Women's Leadership Project (WLP) was designed to strengthen the corporate culture at New York Life and enhance leadership development for women employees at all levels. By attending seminars, workshops and networking events, women employees are challenged to maximize opportunities, enhance their career development and achieve their personal best.
