The National Insurance Crime Bureau has selected the Workbench application from Social Intelligence to combat workers’ compensation fraud. Social Intelligence is a company offering social media risk assessment data and predictive analytics.
Social media investigations add valuable toward preventing fraud, waste and abuse, said Social Intelligence. The National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB) will be using Social Intelligence Workbench to identify, aggregate and analyze relevant, publicly available online information as an investigation is being conducted.
The Workbench application offers investigators the ability to capture all desired content, such as public postings on social media networks, blogs and message forums. The information is compiled into a report that can be preserved and accessed at a later time.
“The NICB is committed to preventing abuse of workers’ compensation, and having access to tools such as Social Intelligence Workbench is paramount to our efforts,” said Brian Smidt, VP, data analytics at the NICB. “The tool’s real-time identity analytics and report building capabilities enable our investigators and law enforcement partners to do what they do best.”
