Veronica Scotti will be president and CEO of Swiss Re Canada, effective April 1, 2015. Scotti has extensive cross-functional team leadership experience, the company said, and currently is responsible for a team of key account managers and some of the company’s largest global clients headquartered in the United States. She will report to Eric Smith, Swiss Re Americas President and CEO, and will continue to be a member of the company’s Americas Management Team.
Scotti joined Swiss Re in 1999, when Swiss Re acquired Fox Pitt Kelton, a boutique investment bank. In 2007, she moved into client markets and has since has served as head of business development Zurich, key account manager in Zurich, and most recently was a client executive in Armonk. Prior to joining Swiss Re, Veronica worked in banking in the UK, Switzerland and Italy with Banque Paribas, Union Bank of Switzerland and Banco di Napoli.
"Swiss Re has a strong history in Canada writing our first business there back in 1911. Veronica's appointment underlines our continued commitment to the market," Smith said. "She has extensive international experience and I have every confidence that she will maintain, and build on, our reputation as an industry leader in the country."
