Progressive plans to hire nearly 1,000 people across the country by year-end 2014. Positions include IT, analyst, call center, claims and corporate roles. The locations span from Austin, Texas, to Progressive’s headquarters in Mayfield Village, Ohio.

Positions are available across the country, including Progressive’s major locations in Ohio, Colorado, Florida, Texas, Arizona, and California, with IT and analyst positions focused on Big Data projects concentrated in Cleveland and Colorado Springs, Colo.

Benefits of the positions include the ability to work from home and compressed work weeks; on-site medical facilities for employees and their families; and fitness centers. Progressive employees also receive potential bonuses based on company performance; parenting resources, such as a child-care subsidy and maternity services; and employee-organized running clubs at select locations. All positions offer paid training, and employees receive medical, dental, vision and life insurance benefits.

Progressive ranked on Glassdoor’s List of Top Companies for Culture & Values and was named as a “best place to work” in both Cleveland and Tampa. Economists said Cleveland has a growing talent pool and rising education levels. Therefore, Progressive plays a role in the Cleveland-area economy.
