Prudential Announces New CIO

Prudential Group Insurance, a business of Prudential Financial Inc. has named Joseph M. Hayes as VP, information systems and CIO. In this role, Hayes will be responsible for Group Insurance technology and systems, as well as collaboration on business strategies and solutions throughout the larger organization.

Hayes began his Prudential career in 1997 and has held a number of positions in operations and systems throughout the company, including activities in support of Prudential's demutualization and initial public offering. Most recently, he served as VP, IT operations for Prudential Annuities, where he led an effort to significantly increase technology capabilities to support Prudential's Highest Daily Lifetime Income offering. Prior to joining Prudential, Hayes served as assistant VP of mutual fund systems for Merrill Lynch, where he worked for 11 years.
