Prudential, CareScout Partner on LTC Tools

Newark, N.J. - An arrangement between The Prudential Insurance Co. of America and the National Eldercare Referral Systems, Inc., will   make the process of finding a long-term care provider easier by offering an array of valuable local and national long-term care information, quality ratings, and discounts, the companies report.

The Prudential Long-Term Care Resource Center is incorporating The Eldercare Referral service, offered by CareScout, Wellesley, Mass., and this month will offer the service to all of the company's individual and group long-term care insurance policyholders and their family members, reports the Newark, N.J., carrier.

The Prudential Long-Term Care Resource Center can be accessed immediately by policyholders through Prudential's website or by phone, and includes access to a database of more than 80,000 providers and more than 500 pages of content and information on nursing homes, assisted living/residential care facilities, home health aides, and care-giving tips. The program also provides up-to-date quality ratings of facilities and services, based on objective, publicly available data, and discounts on select facilities ranging from 7% to 35% that can lead to additional savings.

"The choices surrounding the search for an appropriate provider can be complex and overwhelming, especially in the midst of a long-term care crisis," said Andy Mako, senior vice president of Prudential's Long-Term Care insurance business. "This new service helps simplify the process and can connect our customers and their loved ones with providers that most closely meet their specific needs within their communities. The new resource center is a way to positively impact the lives of our policyholders as well as add value to our products."
