Prudential has named David Zona COO of its group insurance division. He had been the unit's chief underwriting officer.
Zona joined Prudential earlier this year after underwriting stints at Allianz and Fireman's Fund. The decision to give him auspices over all underwriting, claims and service delivery functions for the unit came because of his skill with analytics, according to Group Insurance president Andrew Sullivan.
“David’s broad organizational leadership experience, approach to risk portfolio management and success delivering significant improvements leveraging predictive analytics is a tremendous asset to our business,” Sullivan said.
Zona has also worked at AIG and Nationwide
