Prudential Retirement Expands Mobile Tools

In an attempt to add flexibility and depth to its online services, Prudential is offering mobile participants the ability to access their portfolios at any time. In addition to enabling mobile access for its 2.5 million current retirement plan customers, Prudential’s Retirement Income Calculator is also being made available on the new mobile-optimized website.

The insurer says the Retirement Income Calculator has been a successful tool enabling users to enter personal information (age, salary, retirement savings) and estimate their retirement income as well as their needed retirement income, so the program can outline a path to the user’s financial goals. Bringing the service to the mobile Web is a response to consumer research.

“Compared to 2010, our research indicates that respondents who are very interested in mobile media grew by 85 percent in 2011 and those very interested in social media grew by 57 percent,” said Eric Feige, VP of E-strategy. “Our investments in mobile technology, customer experience upgrades and digital engagement will help our stakeholders transform how they engage retirement plans and ultimately achieve retirement security goals.”
