RGA Reinsurance to Incorporate Synodex into its Rx Automated Scoring System

RGA Reinsurance Co. will incorporate Synodex’s data into its product offerings and use Synodex APS.Extract, an electronic data feed and customizable report produced from health care records.

APS.Extract is used by insurance carriers and reinsurers in connection with life insurance risk assessment and claim investigation, Synodex said. RGA began testing and validating the Synodex APS.Extract process and product with several client evaluations starting in late 2011, RGA said.

Synodex, a division of Innodata Inc., has the ability to deliver consistent data that depicts even the most complex medical cases, RGA said, and the tool will be a key component of the underwriting process. By incorporating Synodex data into RGA’s Rx automated scoring system, the company will be able to assign scores to drug prescriptions issued, which is considered a further protective value, RGA said.
