RIMS, Chartis Form Risk Management Hall of Fame

RIMS and Chartis Insurance have teamed to form the Risk Management Hall of Fame (RMHF). The companies say the RMHF was established to maintain the history and tradition of the field of risk management, and serve as a means to recognize and honor those professionals who have made significant contributions to advancing the discipline.

RIMS says new inductees will be selected by the RMHF Selection Committee, whose members include the president and executive director of RIMS, Chartis executives and three other industry leaders. Selection criteria include considerable contributions to the field; significant achievements, innovation and trend setting; demonstrated leadership, character and service; and the highest caliber of ethical and professional conduct, Chartis notes. New members to the RMHF will be announced annually at the RIMS Annual Conference & Exhibition, with the first round of inductees to be unveiled May 2 at the 2011 conference in Vancouver.

“It is important to RIMS to recognize those who exhibit this level of commitment to the discipline, and over the years we have done so with various awards to individuals, as well as RIMS chapters,” says Mary Roth, ARM, RIMS executive director. “What we aim to do with the Risk Management Hall of Fame is take that a step further and give today’s risk professionals something to strive for.”
