SBLI implements accelerated underwriting

SBLI, The Savings Bank Mutual Life Insurance Company of Massachusetts, has introduced an accelerated underwriting program for its customers and agents.

Partnering with iPipeline, using the vendor’s iGo Drop Ticket technology, the initiative leverages a shorter, rules-based application to reduce the time to make a policy decision to one week for nearly half of applicants, vs. the average 30 day processing time.

“We are increasing the opportunity for producers to submit business to SBLI more easily,” states Denis Clifford, SVP, Chief Distribution Officer, SBLI.

Powered by ACORD 103XML, iGo Drop Ticket is operated by the submission of a ticket or call, submitting information to underwriting agents directly for secure and more accurate information exchange.

“We are excited to be able to more rapidly insure families seeking affordable protection,” adds Clifford.
