Selective Insurance Group, Inc., today announced the appointment of Gordon Gaudet as EVP, Chief Information Officer (CIO). Gaudet will assume responsibility for all IT operations at Selective.

For the past 35 years, Gaudet has gained significant understanding and appreciation for the challenges and complexity of insurance information technology organizations, according to Selective.

He has spent the last nine years as a director and co-lead of Deloitte Consulting's Insurance Core System Transformation practice in Chicago and served on the Systems Integration advisory boards for Program/Project Management and Delivery Methods and Tools.

"Gordon is a familiar face at Selective as he consulted with us on several projects over the years and was our interim CIO in 2000," said Chairman, President and CEO Gregory Murphy. "Most recently, as part of the Deloitte team, he assisted with the successful excess and surplus lines integration."

Among Gaudet’s IT experience, Selective lists technical consulting, large-scale program design and delivery, software vendor selection, software development, and systems integration for custom and package solutions that support technology-enabled business transformation.

Prior to his tenure at Deloitte, Gaudet was partner and CIO at The Actuarials Exchange, LLC. He also spent six years serving at C-Change, Inc., as their Solution Delivery and Technology leader/partner and was responsible for the company's technology strategy, policy and investment decisions.
