Selective Insurance Group Inc. says its board of directors has elected John Marchioni as president and COO. Gregory Murphy, who remains chairman and CEO, previously held the title of president.
Selective says Marchioni previously served as EVP, insurance operations, with oversight for the company's P&C insurance operations since December 2008. He joined Selective in 1998 and has held a variety of leadership positions, including VP, director of government affairs, VP and strategic business unit leader, SVP, director of personal lines, and EVP, chief field operations officer.
Previously, Marchioni was VP of government relations for the Commerce & Industry Association of New Jersey. He holds the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters designation, says Selective.
