SunGard Launches Investment Measurement System

SunGard, a creator of investment accounting solutions for the insurance industry, has launched iWorks Enterprise Performance Reporting (EPR), a multi-currency, multi-asset investment performance measurement and attribution system for the insurance enterprise, powered by Asset Arena Performance. The browser-based system uses investment information from subsidiary ledgers to feed performance tools for calculating performance rates of return at multiple levels. These include the security level and can compare performance against a multitude of standard and custom benchmarks.

SunGard says the system provides investment accounting professionals the needed tools to validate their investment advisers' assumptions and recommendations, and perform scenario testing, attribution analysis. iWorks is designed to provide improved credit risk management, and CFOs may benefit from the improved insight into risky investments, avoiding exposure to asset classes that impact liquidity.

iWorks complements SunGard's iWorks Investment Management, which is the next generation of SunGard's investment accounting solution, helping insurance companies meet their investment accounting, reporting and decision support responsibilities. SunGard says iWorks Investment Management solution was designed for the insurance industry to address accounting requirements for complex investments, extensive standard and ad-hoc reporting, and portfolio analytics.
