Symetra Life Insurance has promoted Joel Kneisley to SVP and CIO.
Kneisley had been a VP of IT for the company. He takes over the position permanently from interim CIO and Symetra CFO Margaret Meister, who has held the position since June 2014. Kneisley reports to Meister.
Kneisly is responsible for all of Symetra’s technology strategy, team and operations, as well as the company's long-term digital and IT strategy, including architecture, business applications and cybersecurity.
“Joel has been instrumental in spearheading and driving key transformational efforts across Symetra’s technology platforms. His leadership and strategic approach have helped expand our capabilities and strengthen our infrastructure,” Meister says in a statement. “Joel’s track record for driving business results positions him well to advance Symetra’s vision for leveraging information technology on behalf our customers and business partners.”
