Texas Mutual Selects Guidewire

Texas Mutual Insurance Company, provider of workers’ comp insurance, has selected Guidewire’s DataHub and InfoCenter to support its enterprise-wide data management and business intelligence strategies, Guidewire said.

DataHub is an operational data store designed to unify, standardize and store data from insurers’ systems and external sources to feed core systems, business intelligence applications and downstream systems, such as general ledger, regulatory and tax reporting; Guidewire said. InfoCenter is a business intelligence warehouse optimized for the P&C industry to offer information in easy-to-use formats for business intelligence, analysis and enhanced decision making.

“We are excited about the prospect of using Guidewire DataHub and InfoCenter as our primary data source,” said Randy McKean, senior manager, Information Technology, Texas Mutual. “Having a complete solution with InsuranceSuite and Guidewire’s data management and business intelligence products will allow our users to quickly retrieve data and generate actionable business insights.”

DataHub and InfoCenter are intended to enable Texas Mutual to:

  • Enable staff to access reports and conduct queries independently
  • Better map and convert data
  • Provide a single view of data to users across the organization, including claims, finance and underwriting.

“Good data is critical to helping the organization achieve its strategic goals,” said Terry Buchheit, VP, application services, information technology division, Texas Mutual. “The implementation of DataHub and InfoCenter, when combined with InsuranceSuite, will provide us with significantly greater operational visibility, in order to be more responsive to our customers and business partners.”
Texas Mutual selected DataHub and InfoCenter to replace its homegrown systems and help make data easier to access and understand. The insurer deployed Guidewire ClaimCenterlast year and now is implementing PolicyCenter and BillingCenter; DataHub and InfoCenter will be deployed concurrently with those applications.
