The Hartford Receives Subpoena on Broker Compensation

HARTFORD, Conn. --The Hartford Financial Services Group received a subpoena today from the Office of the Attorney General of the State of New York seeking information on compensation agreements between insurance brokers and the company.  The Hartford intends to cooperate fully with the inquiry.

The Hartford is one of the nation's largest financial services and insurance companies, with 2003 revenues of $18.7 billion.  The company is a leading provider of investment products, life insurance and group benefits; automobile and homeowners products; and business property-casualty insurance.
