Top 10 Tornado-prone Areas

The 2011 tornado season has been extremely active and has already surpassed last year’s totals for number of tornadoes (1,282) and damage ($1.1 billion), according to CDS Business Mapping LLC. Based on RiskMeter Online’s Tornado Model, the following areas are most at risk for tornadoes:

1. Denver (Not downtown but a rural area to the northeast)

3. Miami, Fla.

4. Hollywood, Fla.

5. Aurora, Colo.

6. Houston

8. Tampa, Fla.

9. St. Petersburg, Fla.
