Global specialty insurer Torus announced the appointment of Paul Lafferty as VP, property claims manager. He will lead the company's property services offering in the United States. Based in Torus’ New Jersey office, Lafferty is responsible for all U.S. property claims services.

Lafferty joins Torus from Starr Technical Risks Agency, where he was most recently executive general adjuster responsible for delivering claims services to insureds throughout the major insurance markets worldwide. He has gained further extensive experience in handling claims for major catastrophes throughout his 23 year career at AIG Global Energy, FM Global, Arkwright Mutual Insurance and Factory Mutual.
This appointment follows last week's announcement of Charles Stauber's promotion to head of Torus’ U.S. casualty claims division.
