Global specialty insurer Torus has formed Torus eCommerce, a new division, to centralize the development and delivery of its Escape online broker portals, which the company said streamlines the quote-to-bind-to-issue process wholesalers serving small businesses in the United States.
Torus’ eCommerce division is intended to enhance the company’s underwriting support and service, and strengthen product development, the company said. The Escape portals currently include excess casualty, health care and miscellaneous professional liability lines.
“Torus’ suite of Escape products provide the specialty coverage wholesale brokers require for their SME customers and the automation brokers need to more efficiently and profitably handle their business,” said Linc Trimble, head of eCommerce. “The creation of a dedicated eCommerce team will allow us to further enhance and grow our online offerings for the select wholesalers we work with.”
