Universal Insurance Promotes CIO

Florida-based insurance holding company Universal has named Kimberly Cooper CIO effective immediately.

Cooper has been at Universal for eight years, most recently as IT audit director. In her new role, she is responsible for developing technology strategy, including security, processes and infrastructure.

"During her eight years at Universal, Kimberly has played a key role in developing and implementing many of our key IT systems and processes while demonstrating valuable leadership abilities," said Sean Downes, Universal president and CEO. "Kimberly's technology expertise, extensive experience and knowledge of Universal Insurance will help ensure that we have the right IT resources and strategy in place to support our ongoing growth initiatives."

Before joining Universal, Cooper worked at PwC in its systems and process assurance practice.
