Utica National Restructures Leadership Team

Utica National Insurance Group has named Brian Lytwynec as assistant to the chairman and chief strategy officer. Richard P. Creedon has been named president and COO, a title Lytwynec formerly held. Creedon was executive VP, senior claims officer and general counsel. Both changes are effective immediately.

Utica said Lytwynec also has been named chair of the company’s Investment Advisory Committee. He joined Utica National in 1981 as an underwriter. He was named VP in 1988 and has held the titles of senior VP – commercial lines, executive VP and, most recently, president and COO. Lytwynec holds the CPCU designation and is a current member of the Utica chapter of the CPCU Society.  He is also a trustee of the Church of the Annunciation and a committee member for Community Foundation of Herkimer & Oneida Counties Inc.

Creedon joined Utica National in 1998 as assistant VP and director of workers compensation claims, said Utica. He has worked in the organization as senior claims officer, senior VP and, most recently, as executive VP, senior claims officer and general counsel. Creedon is a member of the American Bar Association and the American Society of Workers Compensation Professionals and serves as chairperson of the New York Special Funds Executive Committee.
