Vertafore plans to move its largest data center to Savvis’ hosting facility in Fort Worth, Texas. By co-locating its hosting services in the Savvis facility, Vertafore will significantly increase its network performance through greater bandwidth and connectivity, the company says. Additionally, the facility is highly secure and redundant, offering 24/7 surveillance and generators to ensure uninterrupted availability of Vertafore’s hosted solutions.   Vertafore will continue to manage its Software-as-a-Service-based products internally, while Savvis—a leader of managed and outsourced IT services—will operate Vertafore’s scale-related IT infrastructure. Vertafore’s products will continue to run on company equipment managed by Vertafore employees.   “The new data center will give our customers faster results and greater peace of mind,” says Darryl Lemecha, Vertafore CIO. “Savvis’ facility allows us to better accommodate the rapid growth of our SaaS offerings, and our customers will benefit both from Savvis’ dedication to data center infrastructure and from continued product innovation from Vertafore. This move will allow us to focus on what we do best: creating, delivering and supporting our suite of industry-leading products.”

The move, which should be completed by May 2010, will be seamless due to the use of remote data replication and duplicate hardware, Vertafore says, and customers will not experience any disruption to their service during the transition.
