Vordel Releases Gateway 6.1

Vordel, a provider of connectivity for service-oriented architecture (SOA) and cloud services, released version 6.1 Vordel Gateway. Vordel says the new version enables a single point of control and monitoring for cloud and SOA services, through the lifecycle, across the network and beyond. Key enhancements include greater service quality analysis, role-based access to policies and service information, improved service lifecycle management, and enhanced next-generation SOA governance support. The updates are designed to improve the overall productivity of an organization’s engineering, architecture and network operation team and reduce costs.

As businesses integrate SOA and Cloud-based applications, policies inevitably become complex, says Vordel, adding that Gateway 6.1 offers users a single command and control point for best practice SOA and cloud governance. Enterprises can enforce security and privacy policies, monitor service quality and control service usage.

Vordel says the latest enhancements include an automated service analysis feature to auto-generate reports on service usage, uptime and response times. Gateway also features dynamic quota management, allowing enterprises to control and regulate the traffic levels to services, based on a wide range of parameters that include customer status (paying or free), IP address, partner ID, credentials, time of day, duration, frequency and volume of requests.
