Torus Picks Guidewire for All its Segments

Torus, selected Guidewire ClaimCenter as its global claims management system for all lines of business.

Torus says it selected ClaimCenter from Guidewire Software, San Mateo. Calif., because of ClaimCenter's ability to support the insurer's commercial and specialty lines of business, and its flexibility to manage claims globally. Torus also says that with ClaimCenter, it will optimize claims management and operational administration, resulting in increased claims-handling efficiencies, improved outcomes and a differentiated service to customers.

"The performance and operational visibility improvements ClaimCenter provides, such as the system's built-in performance metrics to ensure we are performing to our internally established best practices, will certainly help us achieve this, and will also demonstrate our 'willingness to pay' philosophy," says Rob Powell, Torus' global head of claims.

 

AXA UK Chooses Oracle

AXA UK Plc, will use Oracle Identity and Access Management technology to support customer and business partner access control across the company's U.K. websites, according to Redwood City. Calif.-based Oracle Corp.

The company also says that in delivering a common platform in this area, AXA UK Plc will be able to enforce a higher level of security and process diligence, while reducing costs and centralizing the administration of associated information security services.

Oracle Identity and Access Management is designed to provide controls for access to company Web assets, including identity federation capability.

"AXA UK has always invested heavily in security-focused technologies to ensure that our customers' information assets are protected to the best of our ability," says Sue Kettley, head of U.K. security at AXA UK Plc. "The Oracle Identity and Access Management portfolio offers a wide range of incremental security technologies with which to extend our approach."

 

Fremont Opts For SpeedBuilder Systems

Fremont, Michigan-based Fremont Insurance has gone live with BindExpress Policy and other components of the BindExpress Suite, from Columbia, S.C.-based SpeedBuilder Systems LLC. The system is designed to enable Fremont's independent agents to quote and bind new business policies and enter endorsements, with immediate straight-through processing for the commercial package policy lines, including general liability, inland marine, crime and property.

Fremont also implemented BindExpress Product Portal, BindExpress Underwriting and BindExpress Rating components for automated rating, underwriting and real-time information, says SpeedBuilder.

"The speed of using Fremont's online portal for entering quotes and endorsements has enabled us to offer 24-hour turnaround time," says Laura Ford, commercial lines CSR at Nustar Insurance, a Fremont agency with offices throughout Michigan.

 

Mercer to Aid Agents With Outline Systems

Pennington, N.J.-based Mercer Insurance Group will use ProducerOne and SecureOne, products created by Outline Systems Inc. (OSI), Somerset, N.J.

By implementing ProducerOne, Mercer, a provider of P&C insurance products in seven states, will combine multiple agency management systems into a single platform. The integration of ProducerOne with the company's policy and claims systems promises to give Mercer's executive team a cohesive, comprehensive view of any given agency's performance and a single, authoritative source for all agent information.

"ProducerOne, combined with SecureOne, OSI's identity and entitlement management solution, will allow us to establish a single, organization-wide, agent self-service portal," says Jon McCloskey, manager of IT admin services for Mercer.
