Willis Re Inc. has appointed Geoff Lubert as managing director and EVP of Willis Re Canada. Willis Re Inc. is the North American reinsurance operation of Willis Group Holdings Plc., a risk advisor, insurance and reinsurance broker.
Lubert replaces Robert Wildbore, who will be returning to the United Kingdom to take a new senior position at Willis, having established Willis Re’s operations in Toronto four years ago. Subject to regulatory approval, Lubert also will take a seat on the board of directors of Willis Re Canada.
At the same time, Willis Re Canada has appointed Scott Jellous to SVP, also based in Toronto. Lubert and Jellous each bring reinsurance industry experience to Willis Re, and both started their careers at Guy Carpenter.
“As we continue to build our Canadian operations, Geoff and Scott are perfectly placed to capitalize on the excellent foundations put in place by Robert and the team,” Jim Bradshaw, Willis Re North America CEO and chairman of Willis Re Canada. “Under Robert’s leadership and through the efforts of our Seattle-based team, we began the process of establishing our brand in Canada several years ago and now have a well-respected presence in the market.”
