XL Group announced yesterday that EVP, strategic growth Greg Hendrick will serve as CEO of their
“With more than 17 years at XL, as an underwriter, a head of one of our most successful reinsurance businesses, and most recently as the head of strategy for the entire enterprise, Greg has distinguished himself,” XL’s CEO Mike McGavick said in a statement. “For the past year he has led the Fresh Start review of each of our underwriting businesses, examining and helping align the strategy for each book. In this new role, I believe that Greg's continued influence on our insurance operations will serve us well.”
In Hendrick’s time with XL, he has held the positions of president and chief underwriting officer of XL’s Bermuda-based reinsurance company, SVP and chief property underwriter for Bermuda reinsurance operations and VP of XL Mid Ocean Re.
Dave Duclos, who has been EVP and CEO of XL’s insurance operations since 2008, is set to retire Dec. 31, 2011, but will remain an XL consultant through 2012.
