Zurich Names Fioretti as Chief Risk Engineering Officer

Zurich has named Thomas Fioretti as chief risk engineering officer for Zurich in North America, effective Jan. 16, 2013.

Fioretti will be responsible for the ongoing development and delivery of Risk Engineering's risk management and loss prevention services to customers of Zurich’s Global Corporate and North America Commercial business divisions. He will report to Dan Riordan, CEO of global corporate in North America, and Robert Gremli, global chief risk engineering officer for Zurich’s General Insurance segment.

Zurich says Fioretti joined the company in 2008 as SVP of operational transformation for North America Commercial, leading a team of 950 operations and audit professionals. In 2010, he became SVP of commercial markets, creating a strategy for companies with revenues between $5 and $25 million.

Prior to joining Zurich, Fioretti had a 20-year career with AIG, beginning in 1988, says Zurich. He co-founded AIG Small Business in 2001 before serving as its COO, leading the unit's underwriting, operations and distribution functions. Following some time as VP of AIG's Global Reinsurance Group, he returned to AIG Small Business to serve as executive VP, with a primary focus on distribution, field operations and eCommerce.
