Accenture Will Implement Claim Components Software At Denmark's Topdanmark Insurance

COPENHAGEN--Accenture has been selected to implement its Web-based Claim Components software application at Topdanmark, a leading property and casualty insurance company based in Denmark.  Topdanmark is the tenth insurer, and the first in the Nordic region, to license Accenture Claim Components software solution.

Accenture will work with a team of Topdanmark's business and IT professionals to deploy the solution, automating critical business processes to help Topdanmark's 400 claims professionals better manage claims outcomes.

"Our main purpose is to provide our customers with even better service, and we expect that many insurance companies will have a much stronger focus on customer services in the next few years," said Lars Halling, Head of Topdanmark's Claims Division. "We are confident that Topdanmark can offer Denmark's best claims handling to our customers. The new integrated solution from Accenture will help our claims professionals access a much better overview of each case, resulting in faster customer responses."

Accenture's Claim Components solution, which Accenture licenses to insurers globally, leverages reusable net-centric applications built on a component-based architecture. The version Topdanmark has licensed from Accenture will be built on a J2EE platform. Claim Components is fully Web-based, is accessible via Web browsers and automatically assigns claim-related tasks to the appropriate party, ensuring consistent best-practice execution across a claims organization. The system can lower development time by 12-24 months, yielding business benefits sooner at lower costs.

"Excellence in claims is a key competitive differentiator for a P&C insurance company," said Jonas Liljenberg, the partner responsible for Accenture's Insurance practice in the Nordic region. "We are pleased to help Topdanmark achieve its goals to update its claims system and provide improved service to its policyholders."

"Insurers are looking for ways to quickly deploy innovative solutions to critical business areas such as claims," added Dave Hollander, managing partner of Accenture's Insurance Solution group. "Our Web-based claims application demonstrates that insurers can now update their legacy systems and move to the next generation of claims technology."
