In-Drive is a self-installed device, and after ACP and HTI undergo further development, testing and marketing in an effort to tailor the device, the companies expect it will provide drivers with on-the-road hands-free calling directly to AAA for emergency support services and enhanced roadside assistance. A vehicle’s carbon footprint, location, speed alerts and stolen vehicle location assistance are additional capabilities the device can enable.
All 12 million AAA members in 20 states will be offered the in-vehicle solution. A launch date for the services is expected to fall in the second quarter of 2012 with more details to come.
