AIG Technologies Inc. (AIGT), Livingston, N.J., has expanded its Web-based Automobile Liability Insurance Reporting (ALIR) system to support South Carolina's recently announced automobile liability reporting mandate.AIGT's ALIR system enables insurance carriers nationwide to electronically report personal and commercial automobile insurance verification and cancellations.
As a result of South Carolina's move to regulate automobile liability insurance reporting, ALIR has been tailored to comply with the state's new electronic submission requirements, which insurers are required to conform to by August 2004.
AIGT's ALIR system enables carriers to communicate directly with South Carolina's Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) to verify that data meets reporting mandates. This is managed through a Web-enabled "Error Correction Facility," which reconciles returned transactions, allows errors to be reviewed and corrected, and resends transactions to the DMV.
