Allianz Global Assistance USA Spins Off AGA Interactive

Alliance Global Assistance USA (AGA) will spin off technology unit AGA Interactive. The new unit, Fusion Company, will be led by Jon Ansell, chairman of AGA USA, and Beth Godlin, AGA USA CEO. The new company, functioning as a separate entity, will launch July 1, with Allianz serving as an investor.

Fusion Co. will employ staff from AGA Interactive Co. Ansell will serve as chairman, Godlin will be chief partner services officer, and Bob Dufour, currently president of AGA Interactive will be president of the new company.

Mike Nelson, president of Orbitz Worldwide, will become CEO of Allianz Global Assistance USA, responsible for the United States, Canada, Mexico and Brazil. He also will serve on the company's global executive committee.

According to a press release, Fusion Company will employ “functionality that was initially developed within Allianz Global Assistance USA as a way to use real-time analytics and marketing to personalize travel insurance product offers. The spin-off will allow Fusion to continue to grow acceptance of insurance offers for its travel partners.” Allianz Global Assistance was formerly known as Mondial Assistance.
