Allstate’s May CAT Losses Top $320 Million

Allstate announced estimated catastrophe losses of $323 million for May 2013. Of the seven events that month, three accounted for more than 90 percent of the estimated losses.

Before taxes, plus unfavorable reserve re-estimates of prior reported catastrophe losses, catastrophe losses were an estimated $312 million for the month.

Allstate previously announced $216 million in estimated catastrophe losses for the month of April 2013, bringing estimated catastrophe losses for the second quarter months of April and May 2013 to $539 million, pre-tax.
