Aviva Canada Selects Quindell

Top-three Canadian auto insurer Aviva Canada has signed an exclusive five-year contract with Quindell, a provider of telematics technology and services to the insurance industry, to supply devices, network connectivity, product platform, systems integration, logistics, mobile applications, data analytics and consumer-facing applications, for all of Aviva Canada’s insurance telematics initiatives. The agreement includes the use of the Himex Virtual World technolog for usage-based insurance.

Aviva Canada is the first major insurer to commit to underwrite for the Insurance Brokers Association of Ontario (IBAO) in significant volume as part of its telematics proposition; Aviva Canada has partnered with ingenie Canada to act as the insurer’s lead underwriter. This move strengthens Aviva Canada's position as a strong supporter of the broker channel, IBAO said, and demonstrates a desire to offer best in class insurance products, technology, and efficient broker workflow for the industry. The IBAO represents more than 12,000 brokers who control half of all insurance distribution in Ontario.

"We share a common vision regarding the future of auto insurance," said Greg Somerville, Aviva Canada’s CEO in a press release. "We firmly believe that telematics and usage-based insurance solutions will benefit our customers as we are able to customize their insurance based on individual driver experience – and reward safe driving behavior with lower premiums. This initiative is consistent with our strategy of leveraging advanced data analytics and providing digital solutions that enhance value for our customers."
