Houston — CAIC Holding Co. Inc., Houston, Texas, announced that they have begun offering surety coverage through their wholly owned subsidiary Commercial Alliance Insurance Co. (CAIC), and has appointed Sterling Emens III as vice president of CAIC to head up the new surety division.
Emens, a 27-year veteran of the surety industry, most recently served as the senior underwriter for United Fire Group where he was responsible for producing and managing the surety program within Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi.
Previously, Emens worked for a number of nationwide surety markets including, The Trinity Cos., The St. Paul, Universal Surety of America, Western Surety, CNA and Texas Bonding Co. (ACIC).
CAIC Surety will specialize in small contract surety bonds initially serving the Independent Insurance Agents in the state of Texas.
