Chubb Named "Best Company for Multicultural Women"

Warren, N.J. — For the second consecutive year, the Chubb Group of Insurance Cos. has been named a “Best Company for Multicultural Women” by Working Mother magazine. The 20 companies receiving this award were selected based on their workforce, culture, external programs and work/life programs. This year, the most weight was given to the representation, recruitment and retention of women of color.

“We are pleased to be recognized as a company that has created an inclusive environment,” says Kathy Marvel, SVP, Chubb & Son, and chief diversity officer, The Chubb Corp. “Chubb’s success rests on its ability to find new ways to further strengthen our culture of inclusion and to attract and retain the most talented and diverse group of employees to meet our customers’ needs.”

Several corporate employee resource groups and local diversity groups at Chubb help address the concerns of multicultural women. The Minority Development Council, Women’s Development Council and Women of Color Leadership Book Club offer a variety of opportunities for women of color to enhance their leadership skills. In 2007, the Minority Development Council sponsored a Women of Color Leadership Conference to provide participants with leadership training and networking opportunities. Women of color are encouraged to apply to participate in the Women’s Development Council annual mentoring program, which links mid-level mentees with senior Chubb women. The Women of Color Book Club, formed in 2002, helps to enhance leadership skills through book discussions.
