Andre Stewart has been appointed to the newly created position of SVP, underwriting, custom accounts, by NORCAL Mutual Insurance Co., a medical professional liability insurer. Stewart will be responsible for new business growth, focusing on multi-state and national accounts, program business, unique risks and integrated delivery systems, NORCAL said.
“We are extremely excited to have Andre join NORCAL as we continue our national expansion,” said Tim Friers, SVP and chief underwriting officer. “His deep knowledge and industry expertise will be a significant asset to NORCAL to serve the varying and complex needs of our policyholders.”
Stewart has more than 25 years of experience in the medical professional liability industry, NORCAL said. Previously he was with The Doctors Company, where he was chief underwriting officer and president of TDC Specialty. Prior, he was VP, medical professional liability practice, at CNA. Stewart earned his Bachelor of Science in finance from Northern Illinois University, and his Masters of Business Administration with an emphasis in finance from Keller Graduate School.
