Cracknell Appointed Head of Aon Marine in UK

Insurance broker and risk adviser Aon Risk Services has appointed Mark Cracknell as CEO of Aon Marine in the UK. Leading a team of 80 based in London and the UK regions, he will be responsible for servicing marine clients both directly, and through the global Aon Specialty network. In addition, he will continue to boost revenues and represent the UK on Aon’s global marine executive headed by Steve Beslity.

Cracknell, a 20-year veteran with experience in marine underwriting and insurance broking, was previously team leader of marine in London for Benfield Corporate Risk, which integrated into Aon in December 2008.

“Mark brings his talent as an underwriter and broker, coupled with a vision of delivering the best client service and leadership," said Steve Beslity, CEO of Aon Global Marine. "Notably, his understanding of protection & indemnity insurance is crucial as the cover now accounts for 50% of a ship owner’s spend in comparison to roughly 20% two decades ago.”
