Edwardson Named CIO of FAMI

Andy Edwardson has been named chief information officer (CIO) for the Farmers Alliance Companies. His success record has resulted in a rapid and notable rise within the organization. Joining Farmers Alliance in 1995 as an application programmer, he has since held positions of increasing responsibility, including database system administrator and IT manager. Since 2007 Edwardson served as VP, information technology. As CIO, Edwardson also joins the companies’ executive management team.

Under Edwardson’s leadership, FAMI has been recognized with a number of awards, including Insurance Networking News’ 2010 VIP Best Practice Awards for his efforts in overhauling the insurer’s legacy systems, as well as Celent’s 2009 Model Carrier award. Edwardson has since joined the Insurance Networking News’ Editorial Advisory Board.

Edwardson will continue to manage all aspects of the companies’ various computer systems, utilized by company staff as well as affiliated independent agents. His current challenges include the continued implementation of new claims, billing and policy processing systems, while maintaining daily operations throughout the company. Along with other IT managers, Edwardson leads a team of more than 40 professionals.
