"The API integrations allow us to fetch carrier quotes directly from customer input or through embedded partner integrations, along with general underwriting and coverage assumptions," Haggard wrote in a response to questions.

The marketplace distributes home, auto, life and other coverages from more than 50 carriers. It is embedded in the home financing application process of parent company Guaranteed Rate, a retail mortgage lender.

"This platform is another example of how Guaranteed Rate Insurance is driving fintech innovation," Guaranteed Rate Head of Insurance and Executive Vice President, Jeff Wingate, said in a statement. "Our goal is to create a seamless and easy-to-use digital experience to meet our customers' fast-paced lifestyles."

Guaranteed Rate Insurance plans to expand the marketplace by adding carriers and products, according to the company's statement.

"We were lucky to begin this initiative with a fresh start," Haggard added.
