Hyland Opens International Data Centers

Hyland Software is managing the processes and data of about 100 customers in its European data center, which opened in the United Kingdom in July 2009. The company says a growing acceptance of Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) has become apparent at this location, with organizations increasingly choosing this method to deploy software. To meet the increasing demand for OnBase OnLine, the SaaS-version of its OnBase document management software suite, Hyland opened a new data center in Australia last month.

“Interest in SaaS is perhaps greatest outside of the United States,” says Ron McClellan, director of OnBase OnLine and hosting services for Hyland Software. “Australia gives us five data centers worldwide covering three continents, Australia, Europe and North America.”

More expansion is on the horizon, with another data center planned to open this month in the Netherlands. In 2011, the company intends to add two more locations: one in Asia, the other in South America.

The Australia data center is designed with the capacity to serve organizations in Australia and New Zealand, and is redundant and secure with SAS 70-II certification.
